The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student Community

Join the UNE Indigenous Students Association (ISA), a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Our goal is to cultivate a community of talented young leaders who are committed to breaking barriers and making positive changes in themselves and their communities.

The ISA is a passionate and inclusive group of students who provide social, cultural, and academic support to Indigenous students. We value diversity and welcome students from all backgrounds. Throughout the year, we organize various events to assist students in their studies, including lunches, social gatherings, the Indigenous Uni Games, trimester barbecues, and the Heads of School Lunch. We also offer cultural excursions to further enrich your university experience.

Your opinion matters to us! The ISA is open to suggestions from students. If you have any questions or ideas, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Any UNE Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student can become a member of the ISA, and membership is completely free. Any UNE student or Staff member can join as an associate member. Join our team and participate in our exciting events today.

As we gather on the lands of the Anaiwan people, the ISA recognises and respects the traditions, connection to land, people, and beliefs of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Australia. We pay our respects to the Elders, past and present, acknowledging their position as the world's oldest living culture.
