Student and Community NAIDOC dinner 2019

An evening event full of inspiring speakers and cultural revelations. Taking place on Friday 2nd August 2019
This event brings together the local Anaiwan, Gumbungyirr, Gamilaraay & Dhunghutti nations of the New England with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at the University of New England. Non-Indigenous people are encouraged to attend to hear about Indigenous perspectives and engage with our culture.

The cost of this event is TBA

Speakers and performers will be announced closer to the date. In previous years local Elders joined University Alumni and current students in story-telling.
The evening is beautifully informative, but great also great fun!

We ask speakers to engage with the official NAIDOC theme each year in order to highlight their own perspective as an Indigenous Australian. This year's NAIDOC theme is Voice. Treaty. Truth. referencing the 2017 Statement from the heart, which may be read here: https://www.referendumcouncil.org.au/sites/default/files/2017-05/UluruStatementFromTheHeart_0.PDF

We hope you'll join us again in 2019.
