Awaiting New Management - UNEWS aims to support female-identifying students by: providing networking opportunities; holding social, recreational and educational events; providing educational resources; and promoting awareness and use of the Women’s Space.

The UNE Women’s Society runs the Women’s Space on Campus, all female identifying students on campus can request to have card access to the room. All women studying or working at UNE, alumni and other affiliates, including those who do not identify as female, are welcome to join. Membership of UNEWS is free and can be arranged by emailing management. UNEWS is LGBTQPIA friendly. The space features sofa's, pillows, blankets, and a desk with a computer and printer. It also has adjustable air-conditioning and is heated in winter. The space also has a small kitchen with kettle, refrigerator, microwave, toaster and sandwich press. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar are all available at no cost. Mothers are welcome to use the space - children of both genders up to 8 years old are welcome - and it is breast feeding friendly, and contains a baby change table and cot. Additionally there is a range of pamphlets with information for women. The space also includes a selection of books and magazines to read, art supplies and board games. There are phone/iPad/Ipod chargers available. The space is open 6am-11pm every day, including holidays and weekends, and is located in building C017, next to UNESA, and near Campus Essentials
