The 2024 UNELSS Executive invite UNE Law Students to participate in our latest Essay Competition. 

Essay Question:

Examine the potential legal avenues and policy strategies for advancing Indigenous representation and participation in decision-making processes within the Australian legal and political system, following the perceived failure of the proposed 'Voice to Parliament'

Winner Categories:

  • Best Essay Award: Awarded to the best submission. ($100 voucher)
  • Innovation & Ingenuity Award: Awarded to the most interesting analysis of the problem. ($50 voucher)
  • Meritous Mention: Awarded to high quality submissions

All winners will receive a certificate, with the winners of the Best Essay and Innovation & Ingenuity Awards receiving a UNE Life The Shop voucher, and potential sponsorship towards 2024 ALSA Competitions.

  • Submissions must be AGLC4 compliant
  • Submissions must be no longer than 1,500 words
  • Headings and references do not impact word count
  • Awards will only be granted to those currently studying law at UNE.
